Chickpea Tikki is a good snacking option for vegetarians
Ingredients: ( For one serving )
Boiled Chickpea: 30gm
Poha powder: 10gm
Minced Garlic: 1 gloves
Oil: 10ml (2 teaspoon)
Cumin seeds: 1 pinch
Black pepper: 1 pinch
Lemon juice: 5ml (1 teaspoon)
Salt to taste
Mix herbs for taste
Water: 20-25 ml or the required amount
Steps :
- Start with cooking chickpeas in a pan with 1 teaspoon oil, cumin and garlic. Saute all the ingredients for 1-2 min.
- Allow all the ingredients to cool down.
- Next, blend the ingredients in a blender for 1-2 min. Scrape side and bottom of the blender, add 1-2 teaspoons of water and process 1-2 min again until thick and smooth paste.
- In a bowl, place the paste and add lemon juice, salt, black pepper and mix well.
- Now add poha powder slowly for binding.
- Make a ball, flatten each ball and shape it to a patty or just like Aloo tikki or according to your choice.
- Take a non-stick pan on medium flame, spread the pan with oil (1/2 teaspoon of oil), assemble the tikki in a pan and cook it well. When the base is crispy and golden, gently flip each tikki with a spatula.
- Cook well, then serve it with mint or coriander chutney.
